The Decatur District Dental Society will be participating in the 19th annual Give Kids A Smile Day on Friday, February 7 st, 2020. Local dentists and their staff will be donating treatments and supplies to approximately 200 children in the Central Illinois area.

“Give Kids A Smile is meant to accomplish two things,” said Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Bret Jerger. “It helps children that desperately need dental care get treatment, and it raises awareness for a better health care system that addresses their dental needs.”
Dental cleanings, fillings, extractions, and crowns are some of the services these children will receive during this event. Last year’s program donated over $38,000 worth of dental care with 23 local dentists and staff participating. Tooth decay is one of the top chronic infectious diseases for children, with 60% having a cavity by age 5.
